Key Responsibilities
- Execute all aspects of the dental revenue cycle management, including following specific workflows that comply with federal, state, and third-party payer regulations.
- Manage coding and documentation requirements, ensuring the accuracy of claims submissions in accordance with current healthcare standards.
- Oversee accounts receivable, process electronic remittances, and reconcile payments to support optimal collections.
- Address and resolve claim rejections, denials, and appeals by conducting thorough research and following up with payers and patients as needed.
- Stay informed of regulatory updates and payer requirements by accessing appropriate federal, state, and insurance resources.
- Collaborate with other departments to address customer inquiries and contribute to continuous workflow and process improvements.
- Analyze operational processes, implementing best practices related to dental billing and utilizing systems such as NextGen EPM/EDR.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for team members, actively participating in committees and workgroups to enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Contribute to the achievement of departmental goals by meeting or exceeding established metrics for productivity and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical or dental billing, with a strong understanding of revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency in working with healthcare clearinghouses and portals.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, enabling effective interactions with patients, providers, and payers.
- Experience with dental practice management software such as NextGen EPM/EDR, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in billing for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC).
- Familiarity with dental, optical, and behavioral health billing processes.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and related office software.
Technical Requirements
- Reliable high-speed internet connection with a minimum download speed of 20Mbps and upload speed of 5Mbps to support remote work requirements.
