Data ScientistARC Group is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join a leading organization in the shipping and enterprise logistics sector. This full-time, remote opportunity is ideal for an individual with a strong background in data science, analytics, and machine learning who is passionate about developing innovative solutions to improve business outcomes. As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role collaborating with cross-functional teams to model, analyze, and interpret complex data sets, driving the performance and quality of our client’s product and service offerings.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to define analytic requirements and develop analytics solutions that address business needs.
- Design and implement data models to optimize and enhance e-commerce operations and performance.
- Analyze the flow of data within various product portfolios and recommend strategies to capture and measure key performance metrics.
- Research, evaluate, and integrate emerging machine learning and pattern recognition algorithms into existing and new solutions, enhancing product performance and decision-making.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data sources related to domestic product portfolios, defining and improving interfaces to consolidate data for advanced analytics.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of industry trends, customer behavior, and the competitive landscape to lead data-driven analyses and support strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, computer science, or data science. A master’s degree is considered a plus.
- At least five years of professional experience in fields such as machine learning, data mining, advanced analytics, statistical analysis, artificial intelligence, or software engineering focused on data analysis.
- Expertise in data modeling, predictive analytics, and machine learning techniques.
- Proficiency with Azure and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), including working knowledge of Power BI, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Explorer.
- Strong SQL programming skills and experience building reports within the Azure ecosystem and linking them to Power BI dashboards.
- Demonstrated analytical mindset with solid business acumen, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Additional experience with data mining, machine learning, and operations research techniques.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Access.
- Familiarity with machine learning workflows and toolkits such as Kubeflow and analytics engines like Spark.
- Knowledge of other data analytics tools, data frameworks (e.g., Hadoop), and programming languages such as Python.
