Customs Entry Specialist - Summary
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of customs entry documentation and ISF filings to facilitate the import of goods.
- Leverage your expertise in customs regulations, INCO terms, HTS, and international logistics to support organizational compliance and operational efficiency.
- Engage with internal and external partners, including vendors, carriers, and freight forwarders, to collect and verify necessary documentation for customs clearance.
- Maintain data accuracy and process integrity within global trade management (GTM) platforms.
- Contribute to a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement in the customs entry process.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage Importer Security Filing (ISF) submissions, ensuring all required data is collected and filed on schedule.
- Review import documentation and accurately input data for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) release of shipments.
- Communicate proactively with vendors, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to gather all information necessary for customs clearance.
- Update and maintain relevant records and maintenance tables within the GTM platform as part of ongoing compliance requirements.
- Track and trace international shipments, coordinating with carriers, container freight stations (CFS), and logistics providers to monitor shipment status and availability.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and requirements from other government agencies such as FDA, EPA, DOT, and USDA.
- Stay current on import transportation processes, including air freight, full container load (FCL), less than container load (LCL), and consolidation shipments.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in customs entry writing or international transportation coordination.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of air freight, FCL, LCL, and international import consolidation practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Access, to manage and analyze shipment data.
- Thorough understanding of INCO terms, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), U.S. Customs regulations, and compliance requirements for other government agencies (FDA, EPA, DOT, USDA, etc.).
