We are seeking a dedicated and professional Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our team at a reputable State Farm independent agency in Cambridge, MD. In this full-time position, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service and supporting our mission to provide outstanding insurance solutions to individual and business clients. As a Customer Service Representative (CSR), you will help foster strong relationships with customers, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and effectively. Insurance experience is not required, as comprehensive training will be provided for motivated candidates who demonstrate the right skill set and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and attentive service.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries regarding insurance products, policy eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing clarifications.
- Utilize a customer-focused, needs-based review process to educate customers about a variety of insurance options and help them make informed decisions.
- Follow up with customers as needed to ensure satisfaction and resolve any outstanding issues.
- Document customer interactions accurately in the agency management system and ensure all information is up to date.
- Collaborate with other team members to provide seamless service and contribute to the achievement of agency goals.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience is preferred, particularly in insurance or a related field.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills are essential for success in this Customer Service Representative (CSR) role.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Self-motivated and proactive problem-solver with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to assess customer needs and conduct effective interviews to determine appropriate insurance solutions.
- Ability to relate to customers from diverse backgrounds and provide empathetic, solutions-oriented service.
- Must be able to obtain Property and Casualty license as well as Life and Health license as required by state law. Support and resources for licensing will be provided.
