Customer Service Representative (CSR) Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our team at a FARMERS Insurance agency. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the agency’s mission to deliver outstanding customer service and build long-term client relationships. As a Customer Service Representative, you will work collaboratively with the agency owner and team members to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty, and to contribute to the agency’s ongoing success in the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable support to existing and prospective customers, ensuring a positive experience with every interaction.
- Cross-sell insurance products to current customers, including auto, home, and business insurance, to meet their evolving needs and enhance their protection.
- Partner with the agency owner to develop and implement strategies that improve customer contact and overall satisfaction.
- Utilize analytical skills to monitor, measure, and report on the effectiveness of customer loyalty initiatives, working to continuously strengthen customer relationships.
- Educate clients about their insurance options and guide them through the process of obtaining suitable coverage.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant state insurance regulations and maintain appropriate licensing as required for the sale, solicitation, and negotiation of insurance products.
- Use PC software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Explorer, to manage customer information and support daily operations.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, transactions, and feedback to support agency operations and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with agency staff to share knowledge, coach team members, and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Demonstrate flexibility to support occasional evening and weekend work as needed to meet customer and agency demands.
Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience is required, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
- Ability to obtain a Property & Casualty insurance license within the first 30 days of employment, if not already licensed.
- Familiarity with PC software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Explorer.
- Strong proficiency in analyzing customer service metrics and applying insights to improve service delivery.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex insurance concepts clearly.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and support fellow team members.
- Valid driver’s license required.
