Corporate Controller Job Overview
We are actively searching for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Controller to join our finance and accounting team within a dynamic restaurant brand. This full-time leadership position is vital for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting, overseeing performance metrics, and aligning financial strategies with the overall company vision. As a Corporate Controller, you will play a central role in managing financial processes and leading teams across multiple departments, ensuring operational excellence and compliance within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership & Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements for all restaurant locations and general & administrative departments.
- Oversee the preparation and review of balance sheets, cash flow statements, and operational reports to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Monitor, evaluate, and enhance internal financial controls to ensure compliance with tax regulations, employee benefit guidelines, and banking requirements.
- Budget & Audit Oversight:
- Lead the planning and execution of annual and quarterly budgeting processes, collaborating with various department heads to support strategic business decisions.
- Provide financial analysis and planning support to department leaders to drive performance and achieve business goals.
- Coordinate all phases of the annual financial audit, ensuring transparent and efficient audit processes.
- Risk & Compliance Management:
- Oversee risk management programs, including workers' compensation and general liability coverage.
- Ensure full compliance with payroll, lease, and tax regulations to maintain organizational integrity and reduce risk exposure.
- Lead initiatives to prevent fraud, uphold regulatory standards, and maintain a strong ethical foundation within the finance department.
- Department Oversight:
- Provide direction and leadership to teams responsible for payroll, treasury, risk management, accounting, and accounts payable functions.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within both the Restaurant Support Center and field operations to support company values and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and full-cycle accounting.
- Significant experience in financial statement preparation and reporting.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong understanding of lease accounting, payroll compliance, and tax planning strategies.
- Experience working with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative leadership style to effectively manage and mentor finance and accounting teams.
