The Corporate Controller is a pivotal financial leadership position responsible for guiding finance and accounting operations while ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment with organizational objectives. Serving as a key member of the leadership team, the Corporate Controller will provide expert oversight to financial reporting, operational performance metrics, and the company’s overall financial strategy. As the Corporate Controller, you will manage all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and risk management. You will lead the Finance and Accounting Teams, ensuring that the organization’s financial health is maintained through diligent control systems and innovative financial planning. Your ability to communicate complex financial information to executive leadership and department heads will be essential in driving business growth and operational excellence. The Corporate Controller will also champion a culture of transparency and ethical business practices, in line with the company’s mission and values.
In this high-impact role, you will oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements for various business segments and general and administrative departments. The Corporate Controller will also supervise balance sheets, cash flow statements, and operational reporting, delivering actionable insights to leadership. Maintaining and enhancing robust financial controls—including tax, benefits, and banking compliance—will be central to your responsibilities.
The Corporate Controller will lead the annual and quarterly budgeting process, collaborating closely with department heads to provide strategic financial analysis, forecasting, and planning. You will coordinate all phases of the annual financial audit, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and meets regulatory requirements. This role also includes managing risk programs, such as workers’ compensation and general liability, as well as ensuring compliance with payroll, lease, and tax regulations. The Corporate Controller will spearhead initiatives to mitigate fraud and maintain regulatory standards, helping to protect the business from financial and reputational risks.
Leadership extends beyond numbers; as Corporate Controller, you will provide direction and mentorship to teams across payroll, treasury, risk, accounting, and accounts payable. You will foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the finance organization, supporting both the Restaurant Support Center and field operations. Your guidance will help cultivate a cohesive and productive environment where innovation and accountability are valued.
To succeed in this position, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a strong understanding of GAAP, and hands-on experience in full-cycle accounting and financial statement preparation. Advanced proficiency in Excel and knowledge of lease accounting, payroll compliance, and tax planning are essential. Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP systems is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative leadership style will enable you to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
