Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily field activities to ensure project milestones and overall schedules are met for commercial construction projects.
- Create and manage short-term look-ahead schedules to proactively address upcoming tasks and communicate project timelines to all stakeholders.
- Implement and oversee site safety plans, fostering a culture that prioritizes health, safety, and cleanliness on all job sites.
- Coordinate work to ensure adherence to contract documents and industry best practices, ensuring quality and consistency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain dimensional controls using third-party survey and layout personnel as necessary for precise construction execution.
- Verify that all work is performed to the highest standards (plumb, level, straight, etc.) and in accordance with project specifications.
- Arrange and obtain necessary inspections, ensuring that all phases of physical work are properly documented and quality standards are met.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, legal requirements, and community regulations governing each project.
- Administer client-specific programs, including landlord/site rules, safety protocols, and site security requirements.
- Lead and participate in pre-construction, progress, and project meetings with staff and stakeholders.
- Oversee self-performed activities to ensure alignment with established project budgets and timelines.
- Manage project scope changes to guarantee that the latest documents are being utilized and to avoid unnecessary rework.
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and agreements to proactively meet scope, terms, and conditions.
- Direct the punch list and project closeout process for timely and efficient project completion.
- Maintain daily project paperwork, including timecards, field reports, schedule updates, and internal communications.
- Collaborate with supporting work groups, such as client IT departments, vendors, and security personnel, to facilitate smooth project operations.
- Assist with preparing project schedules for proposals, reviewing estimates, supporting proposal creation, and participating in interviews as needed.
- Engage in marketing efforts and participate in securing new projects for the company.
- Perform additional duties as required to support overall company goals and project success.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Construction Management or a related field, or Journeyman status from an accredited trade organization (e.g., Carpenter) with progressively responsible experience supervising construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods applicable to commercial and institutional building projects, including site work.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software, including spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, email, and scheduling tools.
- Current safety credentials, such as OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certification.
