The Construction Safety Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel on construction projects and within fabrication shops. Construction Safety Coordinator - Summary
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all site safety matters, supporting multiple construction projects and fabrication shop operations.
- Implement and maintain safety policies and procedures that meet or exceed federal, state, and local standards.
- Deliver safety training and orientation programs for new and existing employees to ensure ongoing compliance and awareness.
- Promote a culture of safety through proactive coaching, counseling, and positive reinforcement.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and external partners to uphold and advance safety objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer and enforce company safety policies and programs at construction job sites and fabrication shops.
- Train and orient all employees on safety best practices, including live training sessions for Competent Persons in areas such as Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Excavation.
- Document and review site safety for all visited projects, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Conduct accident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Lead New Hire Orientation for employees, focusing on workplace safety and compliance topics.
- Maintain all safety documentation, ensuring accessibility and accuracy at all times.
- Monitor high-risk activities, such as crane operations, and provide on-site safety supervision as needed.
- Work closely with the Company Loss Control Team to communicate incidents and coordinate safety improvements.
- Develop trust-based relationships with clients, reinforcing the company’s commitment to safety.
- Lead by example, modeling safe behaviors and mentoring team members in safety-conscious practices.
- Perform additional safety-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in construction safety management for large commercial or industrial projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional safety certifications preferred.
- At least 5 years of direct safety experience in construction or a related field.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA and Cal-OSHA regulations (OSHA 500 Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred).
- First Aid/CPR training required.
- Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, email) for documentation and communication.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and reliability.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
