The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive management of projects from initial planning through successful completion, with a focus on budgeting, scheduling, quality, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Development:
- Lead all phases of multifamily and hotel construction projects, including creating budgets, schedules, and allocating resources appropriately.
- Develop detailed project plans that clearly define scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines for each project.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure adherence to project specifications and expectations.
- Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Manage and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel.
- Foster a collaborative work environment to ensure all team members understand and support project objectives.
- Conduct regular meetings to review progress, resolve issues, and make necessary adjustments to project plans.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring spending aligns with projections and that all expenditures are properly authorized.
- Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, providing frequent updates to senior management.
- Optimize usage of labor, materials, and equipment for cost-effective project execution.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure construction meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Oversee compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify progress and adherence to plans and specifications.
- Risk Management and Problem Resolution:
- Proactively identify potential project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Address conflicts and issues as they arise, minimizing disruption to project timelines.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of project activities, decisions, and changes.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Serve as the main point of contact for all communications related to assigned construction projects.
- Provide regular updates to clients, stakeholders, and company leadership regarding project status and outcomes.
- Prepare and present detailed project reports covering progress, budget status, and risk assessments.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of proven experience managing multifamily construction projects from start to finish.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction processes, building materials, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in project management software such as MS Project, Procore, or Bluebeam.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- PMP, CCM, or similar professional certifications are advantageous.
