Construction Project Manager Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Project Manager to join a reputable commercial construction general contracting firm located in Yuma, AZ. As a full-time Construction Project Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing a diverse range of commercial construction projects, ensuring successful project delivery from inception to completion. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, proposals, and related documentation for various projects in Yuma, AZ.
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs and prepare detailed estimates for both self-performed and subcontracted work.
- Prepare and submit schematic estimates to support project planning and budgeting.
- Develop, manage, and oversee detailed project schedules, coordinating with all stakeholders to ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Solicit and analyze quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers to ensure cost-effective project execution.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and change orders, maintaining effective communication and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Evaluate alternative construction methods and solutions to optimize efficiency and cost savings.
- Prepare and manage owner and subcontractor billings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contracts.
- Manage and process project submittals and requests for information (RFIs) to resolve discrepancies and maintain project momentum.
- Collect and analyze information to resolve project discrepancies and maintain progress.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in planning, designing, communication, coordination, and conflict resolution to meet construction project objectives.
- Proven ability to oversee the planning and execution of contracted scopes of work, including preparation and presentation of cost proposals, subcontracts, submittal and schedule management, project budget oversight, and job cost reporting.
- Experience reviewing and approving construction drawings, bid documents, pay applications, and change orders.
- Strong organizational and task-oriented skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Characteristics such as resilience, action orientation, collaboration, effective communication, decision-making, adaptability, resourcefulness, and a focus on results and customer service.
- Good driving record, as occasional travel may be required for project oversight in the Yuma, AZ area.
- Familiarity with regulatory construction standards and practices applicable to commercial construction projects.
- Proficiency in mathematics and computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook), Sage 100, Procore, and Bluebeam.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with experience facilitating teams and delivering information effectively.
- Knowledge of commercial construction estimating, project administration, and industry practices, including LEED certifications.
- Commitment to working collaboratively within a team and representing the company professionally in all interactions.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to organize, plan, and solve problems creatively.
- Ability to manage and schedule multiple priorities, adhere to deadlines, and adapt to evolving project requirements.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related industry/business field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in construction management or equivalent industry knowledge is desirable.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by management will be considered.
