Construction Estimator - Summary
- Critical member of the pre-construction team responsible for analyzing project specifications and preparing accurate commercial construction cost estimates.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Project Analysis and Bid Preparation: Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and requirements. Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals, including labor, materials, subcontractor bids, and overhead.
- Quantity Takeoffs and Costing: Conduct precise quantity takeoffs from construction drawings. Use estimating software and industry databases to calculate costs and confirm pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Cost Analysis and Value Engineering: Evaluate alternate construction methods and materials to optimize costs while maintaining quality. Work with teams to identify cost-saving measures that meet project standards.
- Subcontractor and Vendor Management: Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate bids from subcontractors and vendors. Cultivate professional relationships to ensure efficient procurement and competitive pricing.
- Risk Assessment and Contingency Planning: Identify potential project risks and develop contingency plans. Collaborate with teams to manage uncertainties and support project continuity.
- Bid Presentation and Client Communication: Present estimates and proposals to clients and stakeholders. Clearly communicate cost assumptions and respond to client inquiries to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of cost estimates, bid documents, and project correspondence. Prepare internal and client-facing reports on estimated costs and project budgets.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field preferred.
