Construction Estimator - Summary
As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects. Confirm pricing and availability with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accuracy.
- Cost Analysis and Value Engineering: Assess alternative construction methods, materials, and design options to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and compliance. Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering solutions and implement cost-saving strategies that align with project goals.
- Subcontractor and Vendor Management: Solicit and evaluate competitive bids from subcontractors and vendors across various construction trades. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure favorable and reliable partnerships, while maintaining efficient communication and procurement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk Assessment and Contingency Planning: Identify potential project risks and uncertainties that could impact costs, schedules, or performance. Develop contingency plans and budget allowances to address unforeseen circumstances, collaborating with project stakeholders to ensure proactive risk management.
- Bid Presentation and Client Communication: Present cost estimates and proposals to clients, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders. Clearly communicate cost assumptions, methodologies, and pricing strategies to justify the proposed budget and gain stakeholder approval. Address client inquiries and modification requests to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of all cost estimates, bid documents, subcontractor agreements, and project correspondence. Prepare detailed reports, summaries, and analyses for both internal review and client presentations, documenting any changes or revisions to cost estimates throughout the bidding and project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
