We are seeking a dedicated Certified Professional Coder (CPC) to join our healthcare team. As a Certified Professional Coder, you will play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our medical coding processes, which are essential for effective billing, collections, and patient care. This full-time position requires a thorough understanding of medical terminology, coding systems such as ICD-10, and compliance with federal and industry regulations. The Certified Professional Coder works collaboratively with medical staff to ensure that all coding is completed in a precise and timely manner. This role is instrumental in supporting the quality of care provided to our patients and contributes to the overall efficiency of healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to extract relevant data for accurate coding purposes.
- Assign appropriate codes to diagnoses and procedures using current coding systems, including ICD-10.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and guidelines related to medical billing and coding practices.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses, procedures, and other documentation as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, medical terminology, and best practices in medical billing and collections.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies related to medical billing and collections, working proactively to support accurate reimbursement and minimize errors.
- Conduct regular audits of coded data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Support the training and onboarding of new staff by sharing expertise in coding practices and procedures.
Qualifications
- Active Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with ICD-10 coding systems in a medical office or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in medical billing and coding, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and its application in coding processes.
- Experience with medical records management and knowledge of medical collection procedures is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills for accurate code assignment and error resolution.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Work Schedule
- Full-time position, typically 36 – 40 hours per week
- 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
- No weekend shifts required
