As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing examination rooms, assisting with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers, as well as obtaining and recording vital signs. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of daily clinical activities and provide quality care to patients. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records will be essential to the overall efficiency of the clinical team.
In this Certified Medical Assistant role, your responsibilities will also include performing diagnostic procedures as ordered, maintaining and restocking examination rooms, and adhering to clinical policies for lab and x-ray requisitions. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness for patient visits.
- Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers according to established protocols.
- Perform and record vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter readings.
- Obtain and accurately document patient medical histories, medication lists, chief complaints, allergies, and vital information.
- Perform diagnostic procedures as ordered by clinical staff.
- Maintain stock levels in examination rooms and carry out routine maintenance checks.
- Complete laboratory and x-ray requisition forms in line with clinic policies.
- Enter demographic data, diagnoses, and patient discharge information into the electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and clinic workflow.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of military training as a medic, corpsman, or medical technician.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) required; must maintain active certification status.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (American Heart Association endorsed).
- Minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience within the last three years.
- Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or American Registry of Medical Assistants.
- Valid, unrestricted medical license from at least one U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth.
