Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Job Description
Join a dedicated team as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) supporting a primary care environment in a privately owned family practice. With a longstanding reputation for serving the West Chester community, this full-time role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care and support the daily operations of a busy family medicine office.
Responsibilities
- Perform a blend of front and back office duties, ensuring seamless patient flow and office efficiency.
- Answer incoming phone calls, schedule patient appointments, and manage patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain and record vital signs, and prepare patients for provider examinations.
- Administer injections as ordered by providers, following established protocols for safety and accuracy.
- Collect laboratory specimens, including blood draws, and conduct point-of-care tests such as EKGs, strep tests, flu tests, and urine tests.
- Document all patient interactions and procedures accurately within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Maintain clinical supplies, clean exam rooms, and adhere to infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant training program and current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required.
- Minimum of one year of experience working as a medical assistant in an office or clinical setting.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for accurate patient documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to perform clinical tasks, including taking vital signs, administering injections, and collecting laboratory specimens.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in all aspects of care.
Work Environment
This full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) position is based in a primary care family practice setting.
