We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our primary care team. As part of our family practice, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in supporting physicians and ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients. Responsibilities
- Performing clinical triage by assessing patient needs, prioritizing care, and directing patients appropriately within the primary care setting.
- Conducting venipuncture for laboratory testing, ensuring proper specimen collection and patient comfort.
- Accurately documenting patient information and medical histories within the electronic health records system.
- Managing and responding to patient messages through the clinical communication system, facilitating timely and appropriate follow-up.
- Coordinating referrals to specialists and other healthcare services as directed by providers.
- Completing insurance prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and services as required by payers.
- Assisting healthcare providers with in-office procedures, ensuring patient safety and efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited certifying body.
- Previous experience in a clinical or medical office environment, preferably within a primary care or family practice setting.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and the care team.
- Ability to perform venipuncture and assist with various medical procedures as needed.
Employment Type
This is a full-time position within our primary care family practice. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will be an essential member of our clinical team, working regular business hours to support patient care and administrative functions.
