Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Job Overview
We are searching for a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team at Physician Care NW in Lakewood, WA. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to contribute to a well-established primary care and family practice environment. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both clinical and administrative functions to ensure the seamless operation of our healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine administrative duties, such as scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and managing general office tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide clinical support to medical staff, assisting with patient care and ensuring a smooth workflow throughout the day.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare them for examinations, and ensure their comfort and privacy during their visit.
- Measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration, as part of routine patient intake procedures.
- Facilitate patient intake for electronic medical records, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in documentation.
- Assist with triage, giving support to providers in prioritizing patient care based on urgency and clinical needs.
- Administer injections and immunizations as directed by providers and in accordance with established protocols.
- Support chronic care management and assist with medication refills when appropriate.
- Maintain proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, navigating software efficiently to document patient information and clinical tasks.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential is required.
- BLS Certification is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant is desired, particularly in a primary care or family practice setting.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health records, medical terminology, and medication management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to providing compassionate patient care.
