We are searching for a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to become an integral member of our primary care team in Asheville, NC. As a full-time CMA, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare to patients and work closely with physicians and nursing staff in a community family practice setting. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and medical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the clinical setting.
- Perform essential clinical tasks such as obtaining and recording vital signs, conducting EKGs, performing in-house diagnostic testing, and assisting with basic medical tasks as directed by licensed practitioners.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date electronic health records, ensuring all patient information is documented accurately, and assist with medical coding activities to support administrative requirements.
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize medical instruments and examination rooms in compliance with infection control protocols and clinic policies.
- Educate patients and their families about medical procedures, prescribed medications, and general health and wellness practices to promote positive health outcomes.
- Respond to patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy, providing exceptional customer service and acting as a liaison between patients, providers, and administrative staff.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) is required.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic healthcare practices.
- Demonstrated experience with medication administration and direct patient care in a clinical environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred and considered a valuable asset.
- Previous experience in a primary care or outpatient clinical setting is advantageous.

Schedule & Work Environment
- This is a full-time position, typically following an 8-hour shift schedule from Monday to Friday.
