Business Development Manager Position Overview
ARC Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager for a full-time position in Fairfax, VA. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in identifying, cultivating, and securing new business opportunities in alignment with ARC Group’s strategic objectives and corporate growth initiatives. The position is focused on federal clients, particularly those in the healthcare sector such as the Defense Health Agency (DHA), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a current and comprehensive understanding of market trends and communicate their implications to the Business Development team and senior leadership.
- Develop and execute detailed account and call plans to guide business growth and client engagement activities.
- Identify, develop, and manage strategic alliances and partnerships to expand into new markets, channels, and product offerings.
- Conduct competitive analyses and monitor industry trends to inform business development strategies and identify emerging opportunities.
- Lead the development of high-quality, compelling responses to government requests for information and proposals, ensuring alignment with client requirements and corporate value propositions.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of contract opportunities, and participate in internal planning sessions to prioritize and pursue them effectively.
- Engage with client stakeholders to understand their objectives and tailor solutions that meet their needs.
- Regularly update leadership on opportunity pursuit status and provide strategic recommendations for securing large program wins.
- Identify and secure teaming partners, leveraging complementary strengths to enhance proposal competitiveness.
- Work collaboratively across departments to assess organizational capabilities and align resources for upcoming opportunities.
- Support the full capture and proposal process, including strategy development, finalizing teaming agreements, and conducting proposal reviews.
- Develop marketing materials such as capability presentations and marketing sheets to articulate company strengths to partners and clients.
- Track customer purchasing patterns and implement plans to capitalize on new business trends.
Proposal Development
- Ensure win strategies, technical solutions, and client objectives are clear and consistently represented throughout proposal submissions.
- Coordinate with consultants, teaming partners, and subject matter experts to gather and develop strategic input for proposals.
- Lead executive briefings and facilitate key review sessions on capture and proposal opportunities.
- Facilitate price-to-win strategy development and related activities.
- Assess the impact of procurement changes and communicate updates to the proposal team.
- Lead management reviews, track proposal outcomes, and conduct lessons-learned sessions to drive continuous improvement in the business development process.
- Share best practices and insights across the organization for ongoing enhancement of proposal quality and strategy.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal proposal processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- At least six years of experience in business development, preferably in federal healthcare, including experience with agencies such as DHA, VA, and CMS.
- Proven track record in identifying procurement pipelines, building relationships with stakeholders, and facilitating meetings with technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation and federal contracting procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple opportunities and prioritize effectively to meet key deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience leading and managing cross-functional teams focused on growth.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
