As a Brazing Technician, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical documents, such as piping layouts and bills of materials, to guide your work. You will measure, cut, bend, and prepare copper tubing, ensuring each component is ready for precise assembly. Your role will involve assembling refrigeration piping, installing compressors, service valves, filter driers, expansion valves, receivers, accumulators, and pressure switches, and performing high-quality brazing of copper-to-copper and copper-to-brass joints. Protecting heat-sensitive components and purging refrigeration circuits with dry nitrogen during brazing are also key elements of this position.
Quality is paramount in this role. As a Brazing Technician, you will be tasked with inspecting brazed joints to verify strength and workmanship, identifying and reporting any defects or quality concerns, and contributing to pressure testing, leak testing, and other quality assurance processes. Adherence to safety protocols and manufacturing procedures is essential to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Candidates for the Brazing Technician position should bring a high school diploma or GED, with previous experience in brazing within HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, or manufacturing settings highly valued.
