Insurance Sales Representative (Bilingual Mandarin) Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Insurance Sales Representative (Bilingual Mandarin) to join a successful State Farm agent's office in Lower Manhattan, NY. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a motivated individual who is fluent in both Mandarin and English, and who is eager to grow within the insurance industry. No prior insurance experience is required, but candidates must be willing and able to obtain a Property and Casualty license, as well as a Life and Health license. Comprehensive training will be provided to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture strong customer relationships, ensuring follow-up as needed to support client retention and satisfaction.
- Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service, including responding to inquiries about insurance availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing clarification.
- Utilize a customer-focused, needs-based review process to educate clients on available insurance options and help them select appropriate products.
- Maintain a strong work ethic and demonstrate a commitment to achieving daily and long-term sales goals.
- Generate timely and thorough activity reports for the agent to support business tracking and improvement.
- Stay current with product changes, licensing requirements, technical developments, and continuing education to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
- Fluency in both Mandarin and English is required.
- Ability and willingness to obtain a Property & Casualty license and a Life and Health license.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- People-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a dedication to customer service.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, coachable, and eager to learn new computer functions and processes.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated pride in completing work accurately and timely.
