We are seeking a dedicated Bilingual Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this essential role, you will provide both administrative and clinical support to ensure smooth daily operations in a busy medical office. As a Bilingual Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will play a key part in supporting physicians, assisting patients, and maintaining a high standard of patient care and office organization. This position requires fluency in both English and Spanish, enabling effective communication with a diverse patient population. Key Responsibilities
- Interview patients to document and update basic medical history, ensuring accurate and thorough records.
- Organize and schedule patient appointments efficiently to facilitate optimal patient flow throughout the day.
- Collect patient copays and outstanding balances, handling all financial transactions with accuracy and professionalism.
- Update, file, and maintain medical records and insurance reports, ensuring all documents are current and confidential.
- Check in with patients and update charts regularly to reflect ongoing care and treatment plans.
- Assist medical providers during examinations, supporting patient care and ensuring procedures run smoothly.
- Prepare, produce, and distribute correspondence, including memos, letters, faxes, and forms as needed.
- Manage receivable and payable accounts, keeping accurate financial records for the practice.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for patient care at all times.
- Clean and sterilize medical instruments according to established protocols.
- Answer telephones, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls as appropriate with a focus on excellent customer service.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Experience with eMDs or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary in a healthcare setting.
- Thorough knowledge of medical office management systems, administrative procedures, and HIPAA compliance.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of medical insurance processes.
- Experience in medical billing and coding is a plus.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities, with the capacity to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to type efficiently and accurately.
- Demonstrated social perceptiveness and a service-oriented approach to patient care.
Schedule and Work Environment
- Full-time employment: Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
- No night or weekend shifts required.
- This role is on-site, providing hands-on patient care in a primary care medical office.
