Benefits Specialist Position OverviewIDR is seeking a Benefits Specialist to join one of our top clients on a contract basis. As a Benefits Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the health insurance and employee benefits programs, particularly focusing on educating customers, supporting open enrollment activities, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines. This position is well-suited for professionals who are knowledgeable about health insurance, skilled in customer engagement, and enthusiastic about delivering high-quality service in a collaborative and team-oriented environment. The Benefits Specialist role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully within a large organization, and the position is based in Sacramento, CA. This is a contract employment opportunity with the possibility for extension based on performance and organizational needs.
Responsibilities- Serve as a representative at benefit and health fairs, wellness events, and open enrollment meetings, providing information and support to attendees.
- Educate customers about a broad range of benefits and plan offerings, addressing questions clearly and accurately.
- Engage with a diverse audience, including employers, prospective and current members, and insurance brokers, to ensure a thorough understanding of available benefits.
- Support the Sales and Account Management team as an Open Enrollment Specialist, assisting with all aspects of the open enrollment process.
- Travel as needed to client sites for material pickup and drop-off, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of benefits information.
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused culture by collaborating closely with colleagues and providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Demonstrated experience in sales or open enrollment within the health insurance industry.
- Solid knowledge of health insurance products, benefits structures, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Exceptional customer engagement and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to travel as required to fulfill job responsibilities.
