Azure Data Engineer
ARC Group is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer for a full-time, remote position. As an Azure Data Engineer, you will play a key role in expanding and optimizing Azure Data Lake capabilities, designing robust data pipelines, and ensuring efficient data management for cross-functional teams. This role operates within the Eastern Time Zone during core business hours and offers the flexibility of remote work, making it ideal for professionals seeking a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures on the Azure platform to support data engineering and analytics initiatives.
- Expand and enhance Azure Data Lake environments, focusing on efficient data flow and collection across multiple teams and projects.
- Build, transform, aggregate, and wrangle data to meet business intelligence and data science requirements, ensuring data quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with software developers, database architects, data analysts, and data scientists to deliver seamless data solutions and support ongoing projects.
- Provide expert-level support for Azure data services, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues from identification through to resolution.
- Ensure optimal data delivery and system performance by monitoring, logging, and maintaining data infrastructure using best practices for cloud observability.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing technical expertise and maintaining a high standard of customer service throughout project lifecycles.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and correct data-related code issues, supporting business users and enhancing the overall Azure support experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Over 6 years of experience in IT platform implementation in highly technical and analytical roles.
- At least 2 to 4 years of direct experience with data management technologies, specifically within the Azure ecosystem.
- Professional expertise in Azure Data Factory and at least one of the following: Azure Synapse (DWH), Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks, Spark, or Data Explorer.
- 2 to 4 years designing and deploying Big Data pipelines supporting data science use cases.
- Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with at least one additional programming language such as Scala, Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, C#, F#, C, or C++.
- Demonstrated experience building data ingestion pipelines for cloud environments, with data accessible by business intelligence solutions (e.g., PowerBI) and data scientists.
- Deep understanding of the Azure cloud ecosystem, including Azure Synapse, CosmosDB, Data Factory, and Databricks.
- Solid knowledge of cloud storage technologies, especially ADLS Gen2.
- Expertise in implementing cloud security best practices within Azure environments.
- Routine familiarity with cloud observability techniques such as logging, monitoring, and tracing to ensure system reliability and performance.
