The Associate Market Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) plays a pivotal leadership role within our health organization in Charlotte, NC. This full-time position is ideal for board-certified physicians in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM), including those with added geriatric experience, who are passionate about elevating the standards of primary care delivery and leading multidisciplinary clinical teams. The Associate Market Medical Director, Primary Care is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple primary care clinics within the Charlotte, NC market, ensuring that each location delivers patient-centered, high-quality care in alignment with our organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) across 3-5 clinics within the Charlotte, NC area, promoting consistent delivery of high-quality care.
- Provide clinical oversight and support, including direct patient care as needed to fill clinical gaps and maintain a strong connection to patient needs.
- Collaborate closely with the executive leadership team and VP of Operations to implement organization-wide strategic initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the opening and successful launch of new primary care centers in the Charlotte, NC market, including strategic planning and clinical staffing.
- Develop and share best practices with leadership in other markets to foster a culture of quality and excellence.
- Serve as a mentor and coach to providers, fostering professional development and a collaborative clinical environment.
- Participate in organizational initiatives such as network development, specialty referrals, accurate coding and documentation, quality improvement (including HEDIS measures), utilization management, and clinical compliance.
- Promote patient engagement, community outreach, and uphold the organization's mission to improve primary care for seniors.
- Ensure that all clinics under your purview operate efficiently, with a focus on continuous growth and administrative excellence.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine (IM), Family Medicine (FM), or Geriatrics (preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in value-based care (VBC) or managed care preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and lead clinical teams effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel within the Charlotte, NC market to oversee clinic operations as needed.
