Assistant Project Manager – Construction (APM) Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive and review submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Write and track RFIs to resolve project queries and facilitate clear communication.
- Process or assist in the management of change orders to address modifications in project scope.
- Prepare and maintain meeting agendas and minutes for project documentation.
- Assist with the organization and distribution of construction drawings and documents.
- Support project managers and superintendents in subcontract and schedule administration.
- Keep construction drawings and as-built documentation up-to-date.
- Prepare and manage procurement tracking logs to align with project schedules and requirements.
- Ensure all submittals, RFIs, and responses are current and accurately reflect project status.
- Maintain electronic and hard copy project folders as directed by project management.
- Distribute up-to-date drawings and specifications to subcontractors as needed.
- Assist with quality assurance and quality control tasks, ensuring installed materials match approved submittals.
- Document project site activities regularly in writing and through photographs.
- File inspection and test reports in both electronic and hard copy formats.
- Participate in job closeout processes and ensure completion of all documentation requirements.
- Monitor and help enforce safety protocols and OSHA standards on the construction site.
- Assist in ongoing review of job cost reports to ensure accurate project financial tracking.
- Work with the project team to ensure project milestones and detailed CPM schedules are achieved.
- Help create, manage, and modify subcontract agreements and purchase orders as needed.
- Track master subcontract agreements and ensure timely receipt of signed documents.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field required.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience on industrial or commercial construction projects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
