Assembler - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assemble HVAC equipment such as packaged units, air handlers, condensing units, and custom-engineered products in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Install sheet metal panels, structural components, coils, insulation, refrigerant piping, electrical components, controls, motors, compressors, fans, and accessories.
- Route and secure electrical wiring, harnesses, and control components per engineering requirements.
- Install and assemble refrigeration components, including compressors, filter driers, expansion devices, service valves, pressure switches, sensors, and piping assemblies.
- Perform copper tube preparation, cutting, bending, flaring, swaging, and assembly.
- Conduct brazing and soldering operations when qualified and authorized.
- Apply insulation, gasketing, weatherproofing materials, and sealing products to ensure equipment integrity.
- Use calibrated torque tools and measuring devices to verify proper installation and alignment.
- Conduct visual inspections to verify workmanship and compliance with quality standards throughout the assembly process.
- Assist with pressure testing, leak testing, evacuation, charging, and functional testing as required.
- Identify and report damaged materials, missing components, engineering discrepancies, and quality concerns.
- Accurately complete production documentation, inspection records, and product traceability documentation.
- Maintain production schedules while meeting established safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
- Cross-train in multiple assembly departments to support changing production requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area utilizing 5S principles.
- Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience with hand tools is required.
- Previous background in manufacturing, assembly, HVAC, sheet metal, construction, automotive, or industrial equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and assembly instructions is essential.
- Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, tape measure usage, and unit conversions.
- Experience in refrigeration or HVAC is highly advantageous.
