Application Architect Position Overview
IDR is seeking an experienced Application Architect for a full-time opportunity with one of our top clients in Atlanta, GA. As an Application Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable, secure, and resilient multi-brand e-commerce platforms. This position is ideal for candidates who have a strong background in enterprise architecture and are adept at leading technical teams to deliver robust digital solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design and own the technical architecture for a multi-brand e-commerce platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across multiple Azure regions using blue/green deployment models.
- Define and document comprehensive architecture blueprints, including both high-level and detailed designs for cloud infrastructure, web applications, backend services, caching strategies, and content delivery network (CDN) layers.
- Architect and oversee the integration of critical technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Cloudflare, ReactJS, Java/Spring Boot Microservices, and Azure Redis, ensuring seamless operation and performance optimization.
- Establish and implement blue/green and canary release strategies, along with active-active or active-passive architectures, and disaster recovery setups across different regions.
- Lead and participate in design reviews to optimize platform scale, response times, SEO readiness, and ensure compliance with standards such as PCI and SOC2.
- Serve as the technical lead and mentor for engineering teams, working closely with DevOps, Product Owners, Quality Assurance, and User Experience teams to maintain architectural integrity and achieve business objectives.
- Collaborate onsite in Atlanta, GA, with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to translate business goals into innovative and scalable technical solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, including hands-on software development.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing e-commerce platforms, with preference for experience in multi-brand or white-label architectures.
- At least 5 years of experience with Microsoft Azure architecture and service deployment, with a focus on multi-region resiliency.
- Advanced expertise in ReactJS, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Strong background in Cloudflare configuration, Redis caching patterns, and web performance tuning.
- Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines, especially blue/green deployment methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of SEO, accessibility standards, page speed optimization, and mobile-first design principles.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders.
