Apheresis Technician (Phlebotomist, ASCP) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Properly identify and label specimens in accordance with regulatory and organizational guidelines.
- Maintain sanitary standards at all times to prevent disease transmission.
- Utilize age-appropriate collection techniques, adapting to a variety of patient needs.
- Ensure samples are accurately prepared and documented for laboratory analysis.
- Send specimens to designated testing locations efficiently and securely.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to support optimal patient care and workflow.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited training program with certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), Health and Human Services, or American Medical Certification.
- Possession of a degree or certificate from an approved/accredited training program.
- At least 12 months of experience as an apheresis technician within the past 24 months.
- Minimum of 3 years of total experience in the field.
- Demonstrated proficiency with phlebotomy techniques and blood product collection and labeling.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Ability to provide two letters of recommendation written within the last two years that attest to clinical skills, with at least one from a supervisor and including complete reference details.
- Working knowledge of military culture, customs, and procedures, including familiarity with military profiles and active duty personnel retention is preferred.
- U.S. citizenship required.
