Accounts Payable Specialist (AP) Job Description
IDR is seeking a dedicated and detail-focused Accounts Payable Specialist (AP) for a contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our respected clients in Fort Morgan, CO. This full-time role is designed for finance professionals with strong experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable, ideally within the construction or telecom industries. As an Accounts Payable Specialist (AP), you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations related to infrastructure replacement projects, ensuring all vendor payments and invoice processes are managed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Financial Specialist in managing financial aspects of infrastructure replacement initiatives.
- Process, review, and reconcile a high volume of vendor invoices, specifically those associated with infrastructure or capital projects.
- Monitor vendor credits, adjustments, and outstanding balances, ensuring records are precise and up to date.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, vendors, and internal finance teams to ensure timely and compliant payment of invoices.
- Utilize ERP or financial management systems (such as Dynamics SL or similar platforms) for efficient accounts payable processing.
- Align payment batches with remittance schedules and comply with FCC reimbursement processes as applicable.
- Support best practices in internal controls and maintain accurate documentation for all transactions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in accounts payable functions.
- Proficiency with ERP or financial systems for AP management (e.g., Dynamics SL or comparable systems).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with industry-specific processes, such as FCC reimbursement and construction or telecom project accounting, is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is highly preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
