Accounts Payable Accountant Job Overview
IDR is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join one of our top clients in Fort Morgan, CO, on a full-time basis. As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of accounts payable operations within a dynamic team environment. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee comprehensive Accounts Payable functions, including vendor management, customer account handling, and banking responsibilities.
- Execute general ledger entries, perform account reconciliations, and conduct detailed account analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage grant tracking, coordinate grant submittals, and handle intercompany invoicing processes.
- Stay current with enterprise zone certifications and oversee annual renewals as required.
- Demonstrate proficiency in billing, posting transactions, and preparing sales tax reports.
- Understand and process property tax accounts payable postings accurately and efficiently.
- Support financial system training initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvements within the accounts payable function.
- Participate actively in new system integration projects, including purchase orders, inventory management, intercompany transactions, and other related projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Accounts Payable functions in a professional setting.
- Demonstrated experience with general ledger entries, reconciliations, and in-depth account analysis.
- Proven knowledge of grant tracking, grant submittals, and intercompany invoicing procedures.
- Familiarity with enterprise zone certifications and renewals is highly valued.
- Advanced proficiency in billing, transaction posting, and sales tax reporting responsibilities.
- Understanding of property tax accounts payable posting and processing methods.
- Experience with system integration initiatives, including purchase orders, inventory, intercompany transactions, and related projects.
- Ability to support and facilitate financial system training and champion process improvements across the accounting team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
- Industry experience in construction or telecom is preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is highly preferred.
