Ab Initio Developer Job OverviewARC Group is seeking a skilled Ab Initio Developer for a contract opportunity. The Ab Initio Developer will play a crucial role in the development, programming, and coding of Information Technology solutions, focusing on high-quality data integration and ETL processes. Key Responsibilities- Develop, program, and code IT solutions utilizing Ab Initio and related ETL tools to support business operations and data integration needs.
- Document detailed system specifications, ensuring clarity and precision in all technical documentation.
- Participate actively in unit testing and support the maintenance of both planned and unplanned internally developed applications.
- Contribute to the evaluation and performance testing of purchased products, ensuring they meet organizational standards and requirements.
- Implement IT controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all data processed or output by supported applications.
- Work on moderately complex development projects, following established data governance and data quality processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including vendors and business partners, to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
- Support the inclusion of security best practices within application development to protect sensitive information.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends, recommending innovative solutions that align with business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in technical design and coding within the IT industry.
- Proven, hands-on experience with Ab Initio, SQL, and Unix scripting.
- Strong experience with ETL development tools such as Informatica, Mulesoft, Talend, Datastage, or SSIS.
- Familiarity with testing methodologies and the ability to participate in comprehensive testing processes.
- Experience with major relational database management systems; exposure to NoSQL databases is a plus.
- Working knowledge of the Linux operating system, with a preference for RHEL.
- Understanding of messaging engines and experience with RESTful services and JSON is preferred.
- Cloud technology experience is advantageous.
- Strong relationship management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage or participate in projects, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to identify innovative solutions to complex business challenges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Self-directed, highly organized, adaptable, and able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Interest in exploring and recommending emerging technologies to meet evolving business requirements.
- Development experience using PySpark and stored procedures.
